THE CUBIC: OUR ARTIFICIAL CO-PILOT

Ever since artificial intelligence has been created every human being thinks it to be a miracle. But now they can be a part of our lives. If you wonder how you are going to talk with a device I say you might have a look here. It is not lesser than a human being that can feel the temperature, say the details about a particular thing, help to take the right decision, crack jokes and many more. Introducing the Cubic, an artificially intelligent being that can better act as your co-pilot. A nonliving soul!!!

Continuing research over its artificial Intelligence...

SMART BIRD - A ROBOT THAT FLIES LIKE A BIRD

"The robot presented by Markus Fischer, head of Bionic Learning Network and Corporate Design at Festo AG & Co. KG. After 5 years of development he has recently presented the first "Smart-bird". Many robots can fly but none so far could fly like a bird - not until Markus Fischer's invention."

Smart-Bird is a mechanical model that is able to fly by flapping its wings like a bird. It is very light but very powerful and aerodynamically efficient, so that it can take off, fly and land on its own. It was built in 2011 by Festo, a German company specializing in automation. Smart-Bird's movements are graceful and awe-inspiring!!!

MERCEDES BENZ F 015 - THE SELF DRIVING CAR

"At Mercedes-Benz, we believe the future of driving means giving the customer the option to not have to drive at all. With the F 015 Luxury in Motion, the vehicle drives itself, transforming the cabin into a personal haven where time and space are the ultimate luxury."

These were the lines spoken by the officials at Mercedes Benz. They have finally built a car you need not have to drive. A self driving car capable of avoiding accidents and obeying the traffic rules, deliver the passenger to the desired location. A car that does the job of a driver just by voice command.

The car is built out of specialized sensors that is capable of travelling far away distances to the desired place. It can sense pedestrians crossing the road. It can sense the traffic. It can spot the difference between the red and green light. Either the owner of the car has to press a single button or it has to voice operate the car to go to the desired location. The car is partly battery operated and partly consumes fuel. It consumes lesser fuel than a general car and avoids pollution. It is made out of Eco-friendly methods and can serve the best in the future of automobile industries.

2016-F015-CLASS-FUTURE-HIGHLIGHTS-002-D.jpgThe car has got both manual and autonomous driving systems. It has smart body structure that combines carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, aluminium and high strength steels. There are front and rear LED modules that communicate with the outside world along with variable seating system with four rotating lounge chairs. Open-pore walnut wood floor, white nappa leather seats along with six display screens that form a 360 degree virtual screen. A pre-safe body structure that inflates on impact, absorbing the energy of collision. This car also posses electric-driving system capabilities.

However till now this car has not been tested on traffic roads and highways. Still this car will be the perfect future of automobile industry.

NANO-TECH HOUSEFLY

World is getting more and more advanced with the increase in methods of technology. Nanotechnology has given birth to a new era of micro-scale robots that can be used to get a number of solutions for the problem. This nano-tech housefly has been created which can help people in many ways like acting as a spy robot in the enemy's base and gathering all info from them and a lot more applications can be provided with this tiny robot!!!

The robot fly uses eighteen micro-servo motors, three for each leg. these motor help it to move on the surface. Apart from that one micro brush-less motor is fixed in its body. By the help of gear mechanism the brush-less motor controls the movement of its wings. It has two receptacle antennae on its head made out of ultrasonic sensors in order to detect obstacles with the help of antennae. A tiny camera is fitted in the eye of the fly used for surveillance purpose.

The entire body is made out of 3-d printed plastic and a micro-controller unit is present within the body for entire control of the robot. This can be used in a variety of ways possible.

ANDROID PHONE CONTROLLED ROBOT

Have you ever wondered a world built of robots that could be controlled through your android phone? A world where all your home appliances turn on and off by a single tap on your android phone! I am gonna bring before all a mechanism to use your android phone as a remote to control several devices via the most common well known transfer path “The Bluetooth”. I hereby present my tiny creation, the android controlled robot car via Bluetooth waves which is the basic principle of this mechanism.

This is the simple prototype of controlling devices through an android phone based on Bluetooth waves. The android phone contains an inbuilt application the Bluetooth controller. This application could be found in the app store or else it can be built by app developers. The purpose of this application is to transmit serial data wirelessly via Bluetooth. You just need to define a specific character that must be sent which will serve the purpose. Now on the robot car there is a Bluetooth breakout module present whose purpose is to act as the receiver. It receives the serial data transmitted by android phone and decodes them. The brain or controlling unit of the robot is the well known Arduino Uno R3 Processor. The Arduino board and the Bluetooth module are connected with each other through the transmit pin and receive pin a.k.a. TXD and RXD. When one sends the data the later receives and the process continues. The entire process works under the mechanism of transmission of serial data and converting them into digital data. This purpose is to be served by the Arduino board where it acts as the converter of serial data to digital data. The Arduino board controls the movement of the robot based on the instruction given by the android phone. For example if the android phone sends a character ‘F’ then the purpose of the Arduino is to make the robot move forward. The Arduino acts accordingly then.

This principle can be used to make home appliances automated and to control there working through an android phone. Not only android phones but also we can use laptops or any other devices that transmit Bluetooth waves for this purpose. Mobile controlled spy robots will serve the best purpose using this mechanism and have a wide range of application in the military and defense field. Unlike radio waves Bluetooth have a higher frequency and no interference occurs once connected to a device which is advantageous for the purpose. However they possess a particular range within which they work. Beyond this range they do not work. So they serve the best when used within the specified frequency range.
